What is Add Watermark?
Add Watermark is a free online tool from EveryHelper that works right in your web browser. Add a text or image watermark to a PDF and set its font, color, rotation, opacity and position the way you want. Your file is processed on your own device, so it is never uploaded, and there is nothing to sign up for or install.

How to use Add Watermark
- Select PDF files or drop them on this page. The same watermark can go on several files at once.
- Type the text or choose an image or PDF file, then set the font, size, color, bold, underline and alignment.
- Set rotation, opacity, on top of or behind content, print and screen visibility, and the position and distance (or repeat across the page). The preview on the left updates as you go.
- If needed, enter a page range and choose even or odd pages.
- Click “Add Watermark” and download the result. Several files come as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions
What can I change?
Add Watermark takes text (several lines allowed) or an image or PDF, and lets you set the font, bold, underline, alignment, font size, color, rotation angle, opacity, size relative to the page width, on top of or behind content, whether it shows when printing and on screen, one of nine positions with a distance from the edge (mm, cm, in or pt), repeating across the page, a page range, and even or odd pages. Your last settings are remembered in this browser.
Can I use a logo image as the watermark?
Yes. In Add Watermark, choose “Image or PDF” and upload a PNG, JPG or PDF. A PDF's first page goes in as vectors, so it stays sharp at any zoom. A PNG with a transparent background looks most natural; set its size as a percent of the original or of the page width.
I chose “Behind content” and can't see it.
With “Behind content”, Add Watermark places the watermark under the page's text and images. In scans or PDFs with a white background painted on the page, that background hides it, so put it on top of the content and lower the opacity instead.
How does “When printing” only work?
Add Watermark stores the “When printing” and “On screen” choices as optional content (a layer) in the PDF. Programs such as Adobe Acrobat hide the watermark on screen or in print accordingly, but some simple viewers and browsers ignore this and always show it.
Is it free?
Yes. Use it free in your web browser, with no sign-up or software to install.
Are my files stored on a server?
No. This tool runs inside your browser, so your file is never sent to a server and never leaves your device.
Which files can I use?
You can add several PDF files at once.
How long does it take?
In our test in Chrome on a 2021 MacBook Pro (M1 Pro), adding a watermark to a 100-page PDF took about 0.9 seconds (the middle of three runs). The work happens on your own device, so older or slower devices take longer.
