Hide faces and license plates in photos
Travel and event photos often catch strangers' faces, car license plates or house addresses. In many countries, publishing photos where other people can be recognized can cause problems, so it's safer to cover them before you post. Face detection runs in your browser, so your photos aren't uploaded to a server.
Blur facesWhat should I hide in a photo?
| Face | Detected automatically, then pixelated or blurred |
|---|---|
| License plates, addresses, name tags | Covered by drawing over them |
| Strength | Higher is harder to recognize |
How to make it
- Open the Blur Face tool with the button above. Auto face detection and mosaic are on.
- Add your photo. If there's more to hide, such as a license plate, draw over it.
- Zoom in on the result to check no face was missed, then download it.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does it find small faces or faces in profile?
- Most of them, but very small or partly hidden faces can be missed. Check the result and draw over any face it skipped.
- Mosaic or blur: which is better?
- Mosaic is harder to recognize. Blur looks more natural, so turn the strength up if you use it.
